While visiting a small town in West Virginia our heroes were enjoying a Cherry Cola and laughing to themselves at people walking by. Many had crazy outfits, some had crazy pets, and a few just had a crazy look in their eyes. It dawned on these two youngsters that if the individuals passing by had been wearing funny t-shirts laughing out loud would have been perfectly acceptable. Since laughing silently is so difficult to do while drinking a carbonated beverage our friends set out to clothe the world in funny t shirts.
Alas, as the "t-shirt guys" started to think up funny t-shirt designs their friends began to request their own. Soon people all over the country were wearing t-shirts printed in a rented Pennsylvania basement. Inspired by that July afternoon, gems such as "I made out with my sister in Wheeling, WV." became cloth billboards for a forgotten metropolis. Over the years designs have come and gone but many of the best-selling shirts still revolve around their Pittsburgh and Penn State roots. Ratfink is now a family-owned company and has branched into the funny baby clothing industry with the Ratfink division, Funsies.
